The entrance
There is one entrance to the Museum from the side of Aleja Wedla. Lubelska street is the nearest access road located approx. 150 meters from the main entrance. The wheelchair users, persons who move with the aid of crutches, with walkers, as well as families with children are to use the main entrance. The main entry door leaf is 2.8 meters wide.
The entire space in the building is accessible for wheelchair users. The corridors have appropriate widths, the elevators reach every floor. The information in a form of tactile plans placed in every floor is highly contrasting, convex and in The Braille Alphabet.
Car park area
In front of the Museum is located one parking space for persons with disabilities.
Visit with an assistance dog and with a guide dog
Certified assistance dogs and certified guide dogs are welcome in the building and in all of its premises.
The elevators
There are 3 elevators in the building.
One elevator is located on the ground floor, in the entrance pavilion of the Museum. It leads on -1 floor where we can find ticket offices, cloakrooms, toilets and the gift shop. The two other elevators connect -1 floor with ground floor (and) with the first floor, where besides the exhibition, is placed workshop of chocolate; with the second exhibition floor, where we can find the museum offices and the cinema. With these both elevators we can reach the 6th floor with the viewing terrace.
Toilets
There are 9 toilets in the building of the Museum including 3 adapted for persons with disabilities’ needs:
- On the -1 floor, behind cloakroom (at the end of the corridor, along the cloakroom)
- On the 1st and on the 2nd floor (exiting the elevator turn right, the toilets are located on the left side from the exhibition entry)
The Museum is also equipped with a room for parents and children with a seperate toilet and a baby changing table (on the -1 floor).
The maneuvering space in the toilets is 150 cm wide.
